Can I create a wishlist?

You can easily create a wishlist in our webshop. Click on the ♡ icon you find on any product, and a ♡ will appear in the menu – you’ve created your wishlist. If you have an account, your wishlist will be saved and is available any time you login to your account. If you do not have an account, your wishlist will be available on the device you created it on, until you delete your browsing history of you removed all items from your wishlist.

What are the opening hours of MENDO’s flagship store?

Update: MENDO at Berenstraat has adjusted opening hours, for the obvious reasons.

MENDO’s Flagship store, located in Berenstraat 11, The 9 Streets in Amsterdam, is open 7 days a week from 1 pm to 5 pm.

When is your chat service available?

Our chat service is available during opening hours of the store, which is Monday to Saturday from 10.30 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 12 noon to 5 pm. You can use our live chat for questions regarding your order, questions about the website, and obviously book / gift suggestions. Start a chat now.

Which payment options do you support?

In terms of payment opportunities, you came to the right place. We accept MasterCard, VISA, Maestro, PayPal, Bancontact/Mister Cash, SOFORT banking, Giropay, EPS, Dotpay. And we will be adding more options in the (near) future.

I have a giftcard from your flagship store. Can I use that online?

You can, but in order to do so, we will need to convert your physical giftcard in an online credit for you. Send an email with the barcode of your giftcard to [email protected] and we will turn your physical balance into an online credit.

I have an online credit from MENDO. Can I use that in your flagship store?

Yes you can. To do so, make sure you bring the login and password of our online MENDO account when you visit flagship store. You can use that to pay your book on one of the devices in the shop.

Can I add a personal note if I send someone a gift?

You can. During the checkout procedure you will notice a field for your personal note. Here you have the opportunity to add some words. We will turn these into the coolest handwritten note. Be kind, keep it short!

I want my book(s) gift wrapped, is that possible?

Yes. In fact, that’s a standard service for every single product on every online order. We believe each book is a gift, whether it is for yourself or for someone else.

Is MENDO as expensive as it looks?

No. We believe these beautiful and inspiring books deserve to be presented in inspiring surroundings and we put a lot of effort in that. You won’t be charged for that. Having said that, you should know we are no discounter either. We charge standard prices – nothing more, nothing less.

I noticed you make quite a few English mistakes.

That could very well be and we apologize upfront. We’re Dutch and we do our utmost not to offend native English speakers and readers. If you run into sentences that actually make you shiver, don’t hesitate to drop us an email. We can learn!

Can we communicate ‘in het Nederlands?’

Tuurlijk (Yes, you can).

I got an Error 404 or Error 500 – now what?

We hate those because our website should work properly. We would appreciate it if you send us an email and try to reproduce your clicks and actions that eventually led to the error. It won’t immediately help you but it will improve the quality of our online service for future clients. And they will be eternally grateful.

What is my order status?

You can check on your order anytime. To do so:
1) Log in to your account;
2) Under Recent Orders, select your order;
3) From here, you can view order details and track your order(s).

You can also access your order info through your confirmation e-mail. Additionaly, you will receive an e-mail with a tracking link.

I received a digital giftcard. How does that work?

The digital giftcard contains a unique code. Select the product(s) you like and add them to the bag. In the bag you will find a checkbox that says ‘Coupon code’. Click that box and enter the code in the field that opens. The value of your giftcard will be deducted from the total of your product(s). Is the total of the product(s) is higher? You can pay the remainder with any of our payment options. If the total is lower you will have the remainder available for your next purchase at MENDO.

I want to give a giftcard. How does that work?

We offer digital giftcards in our webshop. You can enter any amount starting at € 5. As soon as you have paid a digital giftcard will be sent by email to the lucky recipient.

Why do I have to fill out my phone number?

We use your phone number if there are any questions regarding your order. Also, your number may be used by the delivery company to reach you.

It depends. All orders placed before 5 pm cet will be handled and shipped the same day. If you contact us before 5 pm, we will do our utmost to help you. When can I expect my delivery?

In general you can expect your order within 24 hours after we have dispatched it if you are in The Netherlands. The vast majority of our shipments to EU countries is delivered within 2-5 working days. Deliveries to the rest of the world take 5-20 working days. Once your order has been dispatched you will receive an email with a link that enables you to track and trace your order. Please notice we don’t send books in the weekend. MENDO will not accept any responsibility for late deliveries due to circumstances outside of our control. We will try to inform you of any unexpected delay.

How do I return my order?

If you are not satisfied with your purchase at MENDO.nl, we obviously regret that. You can return it. Make sure that the article is returned undamaged and you include your order number. Please notice that we will refund the returned product but we will not pay the shipping costs for the returns.

What’s the delivery procedure?

Will I be charged customs and import charges?

Any customs or import duties are charged once the parcel reaches its destination country. These charges must be paid by the recipient of the parcel. Unfortunately, we have no control over these charges, and cannot tell you what the cost would be, as customs policies and import duties vary widely from country to country. You might want to contact your local customs office for current charges before you order, so you are not surprised by charges you were not expecting.

Do you ship to every country?

We ship around the world to as many countries as possible – but not all. Once you have added items to your bag, the ‘Country’ dropdown will tell you whether we ship to the country required. The shipping costs for your order will appear immediately.

Why can’t I have my order delivered the Same Day?

You can’t have your order delivered the Same Day, if… the shipping address you gave is not in the Amsterdam area or, it is past 3 pm or, the product is not available for Same Day Delivery. If you feel none of these apply, please contact us to sort this out. You can either call us at +31(0)20 612 12 16, send an email or start a chat now.

How does Same Day Delivery in Amsterdam work?

If you are in the Amsterdam area, you can choose Same Day Delivery. Once you filled out your shipping address information, with Amsterdam as a city, the Same Day Delivery option will be activated. Please know that Same Day Delivery is only available on order placed before 3 pm and on products that are available for Same Day Delivery.

What are your delivery rates / shipping costs?

We work with fixed shipping fees per order, regardless the number of books you purchase. Once you have selected the country of destination, the shipping cost will be shown.

I selected products with different estimated shipping times. What will be shipped when?

If your shipping address is in The Netherlands we will immediately ship what’s available and deliver the other product(s) as soon as the are available. No extra shipping costs will be charged. If your shipping address is not The Netherlands, we will ship your entire order as soon as all products are available. For example: if you selected one product that says ‘Ships today’ and one that says ‘Ships in 4-7 days’ both will be shipped together in 4-7 days.

Can you deliver to another address than the billing address?

Sure thing. During your checkout you will find a ‘Ship to a different address’ checkbox. Checking this box will unfold the Shipping Address fields.
